It is important the the families learn how to use cell phones for communication, and know how to use translation service that can be downloaded on to their phones. Recently we moved out of using Google Translate and have been using DeepL.
They should also have a good and affordable internet service at their home. Please refer to the Independent Living Checklist to ensure you have covered this important area with them.
