COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Community College is now FREE in our state for any individual who has received a high school diploma in Maine, and Eastern Maine Community College is located right here in Bangor.

Credits from Eastern Maine Community College transfer easily to the UMaine system for adults looking to get more than a 2-year degree.

4-YEAR COLLEGES –

The University of Maine Orono, UMaine Augusta Bangor and Husson University are all located in the greater Bangor area.

You can learn more about each of these colleges here:

UMaine Orono - https://umaine.edu/

UMaine Augusta at Bangor - https://www.uma.edu/locations/bangor/

Husson University - https://www.husson.edu/

These colleges are generally not free, with financial aid/scholarships determined individually for each student, so adults will need to talk to the Financial Aid offices at these colleges carefully to understand what their particular cost would be.

EMPLOYERS

Some local employers offer their own job training and education programs on-site or will help to pay for programs elsewhere.  Talk to Adrian at MMCC for more detail about employers with job training programs.
